(Houston, Texas) SEA.O.G. Offshore announced today that Mike
Arnold has been appointed as Director of the company. In this new position, Mr.
Arnold will lead corporate development for SEA.O.G., operating out of Boston,
Massachusetts.
"I see great opportunity working with the SEA.O.G. Offshore
team," says Mr. Arnold. "This company has innovative ideas that
ensure a bright future with the emerging offshore wind industry in the United
States, and I'm excited to be a part of it."
As an entrepreneur and seasoned professional within the subsea
arena, Mr. Arnold's prolific career has spanned 38 years and five continents.
His experience and expertise are focused on Subsea Remote Intervention –
Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV), Survey, Inspection, and remote intervention
tooling.
Originally hailing from the United Kingdom, Mr. Arnold entered the
offshore industry in 1982. Over the next nine years, he worked as a ROV Pilot,
Supervisor, and Offshore Manager on remote intervention, survey, inspection,
and subsea construction projects throughout Europe, South America, Asia, and
West Africa.
In 1986, Mr. Arnold founded Rovtech Limited. He grew the company into
the leading ROV-based inspection, drill support, and IMR contractor while
establishing operations in Europe, Singapore, Middle East, Japan, Korea,
Australia, and the United States.
Mr. Arnold took a brief sabbatical to follow his passion for Enduro
Motorcycle racing and set up a KTM motorcycle dealership with a colleague in
the U.K.
Mr. Arnold then joined Hallin Marine Plc. in late 2005
and formed the U.K. based Hallin Marine UK limited, where he was
eventually promoted to CEO Western Hemisphere. Mr. Arnold played an essential
role in Hallin's rapid and controlled expansion until it's sale in January 2010
to Superior Energy Services Inc.
In 2011, Mr. Arnold was recruited to start up Bibby Remote Intervention Limited
(BRIL). Within two years, the company was operating as a standalone ROV and survey
business with contracts in place with blue-chip oil and gas operators.
During this period, he was instrumental in the fine-tuning and chartering of the "Olympic
Bibby" (now known as the "Olympic Artemis") and its entering
service as the best-in-class ROVSV in the market.
After two very successful years of trading, BRIL was merged with Bibby
Offshore and Mr. Arnold took on the Global role of Chief Operating
Officer (international) until the end of 2015.
In 2016, Mr. Arnold founded M2 Subsea Limited, a company that provided
cost-effective remote intervention services from offices in Aberdeen, Scotland,
and Houston, Texas. With the support of a London based Private equity business,
some 32 ROV assets were purchased, refurbished and put to work on several
offshore vessels. As CEO, Mr. Arnold and his team grew M2 from a clean sheet
start-up to a fully-fledged ROV and IMR contractor within six months.
Mr. Arnold then worked as an independent consultant to Unicorn
Subsea, providing Subsea solutions with a remote technology bias to
international clients in the Oil & Gas and renewables market. Most
recently, he held the position of Vice President Commercial for DeepOcean in
the U.S.A.
"I enjoy the work I do, the challenges offered (especially in
this market) and the great clients and colleagues I Have met over the years," says Mr. Arnold.
"In this next chapter, I'm happy to be a part of the SEA.O.G. Offshore,
not only because the team has so much energy and vitality, but we also share a
vision of what we can accomplish in the U.S. Offshore wind industry
together."
Outside of work, Mr. Arnold is a triathlete and enjoys partaking
in Iron Man competitions around the world. He enjoys mountain biking, dirt bike racing, and his great passion of cycling. He also loves to spend time outdoors with his
family, including his two dogs.
